The best way to prevent staph is to keep hands and wounds clean at all times. It is important to keep clothes and linens clean and not share any personal items with the infected person. It is advised that the patients should not handle food. The left over food should always be stored in refrigerator.

Most of the infections can be treated using antibiotics or by draining the pus. Some staph bacteria get resistant to antibiotics, these need special treatment.

It is recommended to include manuka honey in diet. The diet should also include milk, wheat, dates, grapes, pomegranates, dry fruits, gooseberry, ginger and pepper. A combination of coconut, barberry and turmeric is very beneficial in fighting staph infections. One needs to avoid excess salt, spicy and pungent foods.

Consuming garlic cloves is also recommended. A Kapha and Pitta pacifying diet which is low in carbohydrates can help dry out the blood thereby starving the bacteria.

It is advised to avoid Pitta aggravating life style like excessive travelling or exposure to hot environment. Alcohol should also be avoided.

Tea tree oil body wash acts as anti-bacterial and anti-fungal remedy in this problem. Putting concentrated onion juice or coconut oil over affected areas also kills bacteria.
