Why Protected Sex and How It Benefits Women?

ABSTRACT

"Janhit mein jaari"-- A movie that starts with a typical Indian society sarcasm but ends with a very fruitful message.  The movie focuses on a girl named Manukamna Tripathi who belongs to the chanderi, a small town in Madhya Pradesh, India. Manukarmna who is a very ambitious girl wants to get a good job so that she can escape the marriage talks always going on in her family. One day she came across an offer in which the company was paying her Rs. 40, 000 monthly. Without thinking she said a big  "Yes" for the job and took the advance amount. But later when she came to know that she was hired as a Sales girl for a condom manufacturing company, from there the actual sarcasm began in her life.

She kept the job and saved herself from the life her parents wanted her to live. Later on in the movie she tried every possible way to sell the condoms so that she could be the successful sales girl. Manukamna, now in love with a boy, marries him though her in- laws never know about the specifications of the job she was doing. But when they came to know she was forced to leave the job and was asked to start somewhere else. But a certain incident in her life brought her back to her previous job "A sales girl for a condom manufacturing company" From here she worked with a motive that why sex protection is important and why women need it.

And this article is also about Importance of sex protection for women and why they need it. We will also discuss some aspect that will suggest that why women need sex protection?

Protected Sex

So, starting with converting information into words and the first question arises what is Sex protection?

Sex protection is nothing but basically wearing condoms. Wearing condoms during sexual activity protects two main things:

  • Pregnancy
  • Sexually transmitted diseases

Now the next question arises that why women needs sex protection?

Means obviously men wear a condom but how does it benefit a woman?

Big question, Right?

Women need men to wear condoms so that they do not have to ingest the hormonal poisons called contraceptives and also do not get pregnant unplanned or untimely.

Look it's an open world and now-a-days people don't wait to get married and then have sex. Sometimes the youngsters go with the flow and things happen. But things like pregnancy can be prevented by just wearing a condom. That's what a woman and a man should understand.

It's not only for the unmarried ones but also for the married ones. Married men sometimes have a tendency to go for the intercourse unprotected (Even Women) or simply saying without wearing a condom. You know being a man, your action is well paid by your wife by having contraceptive pills or by going for an abortion.

If you are a man and you are reading this article think for once, do you really think that your wife or girlfriend would like to go for that abortion like a pro?

The straight and simple answer is "NO"

It takes guts to abort a life that is growing inside you, it is tough to handle yourself as well as your womb at the same time.

And it is not just about the married women, it might be your girlfriend, with whom you have made love a month ago and forgot to wear a stupid condom.

There's more on the way so keep reading…….

Wearing a condom has many benefits not just for women but also for men. The matter is whether you consider the possibilities or not.

Next, are the benefits of condoms for both men and women

BENEFITS OF WEARING A STUPID CONDOM

  • It protects both males and females from sexually transmitted diseases
  • Condoms prevent Urinary tract infections in Men
  • Boys, it makes you last long during that romantic time of yours
  • It makes a man a superhero, why? Because even if he is thinking about himself, it is benefiting the other person as well.

You might think the four above mentioned points are sarcasm but these are the facts. More than 60% of women with sexually transmitted diseases, get their infections from men. Women are at more biological risk of getting sexually transmitted diseases and mostly they get it from men.

Sometimes these sexually transmitted diseases also result in recurrent abortions in females and they even don't know that they have such condition.

The next part of the article is about the unknown drawbacks of not having protected sex.

DRAWBACKS OF NOT HAVING PROTECTED SEX FOR WOMEN

The drawbacks are for both men and women. Maximum of the drawbacks faced by men are directly or indirectly discussed above but now we will discuss drawbacks for women if they do not have protected sex.

  1. If you are unmarried, you can get pregnant and you don't know whether your partner will take responsibility or not. Even if he takes the responsibility and if you guys are too young for a marriage or what if your career is destroyed? What if you are not ready to have a baby?
  2. Sexually transmitted diseases can also spread if you do not have protected sex. Married or unmarried, this can happen with anyone.
  3. Even if you are married, if it is your first time you may adjust that it's ok, I can have a child but what if it is not your first time, what if it's your third or fourth time that you are getting pregnant. It costs your body a lot. After this you might have to go for an abortion and what if the abortion is full of complications. What if the abortion might cost you your life.
  4. Recurrent abortions weakens the main organ of a woman's body that is her womb. It may also result in various types of conditions like endometriosis, adenomyosis, prolapsed uterus and many more.
  5. There is a possibility that a abortion which you think is a simple procedure (just pop in some pills and all over) may cost you your health.
  6. Now-a-days a thing called contraceptives also helps in not getting pregnant but a female cannot have them regularly. These  contraceptives tend to play with the essential hormones present in females.

The movie "Janhit mein jaari" gives you an idea that yes certain things can happen. Being a woman doesn't mean that you can not ask for protected sex and being a man also not mean that you  are free to have unprotected sex. Being a woman doesn't mean that you are meant to have contraceptives.

This movie was written by Raaj shaandilyaa who is known to write in a very different way. His thinking process and story lines are always appreciable. Moreover, the awaring role by Actress Nushrratt bharuccha is worth watching and obviously in the second half of the movie she has proved that she can do a sarcastic role but can also justify something serious by her performance.

This article was not about criticising men but it was about making both men and women think that why our society and their personal lives demands Sex protection.

CONCLUSION

Talking and discussing about sex protection is not a tabboo and it is important. It is important because if you don't than being a woman you can be the one facing all the problems and if you are a man then just to have sex shouldn't be your only motive. You can think about your safety as well as your partner's safety as well. Abortions, in India are becoming very common because when men do what ever they want and then women go for what ever they want but abortions do harm females body.

Ayurvedic Aspect Of Obesity And Its Herbal Management

Abstract

Obesity (sthoulya) is a very common disease in this era. This is the medical problem which gives rise to many health problems and diseases such as cardiac disease, diabetes and many more. Ayurveda, an ancient medicine science, helps to treat obesity in many ways with the help of herbal medicines, panchkarma, and home remedies. In ayurveda there are 7 body tissues and due to over accumulation of fat tissues in specific parts of the body which causes hampering of meda dhatu which is further not converted into asthi dhatu. This condition is known as obesity (sthoulya). Further we will discuss its causes, pathology, and treatment in this article.

Obesity

Introduction To Obesity

Obesity is a complex disease which gives rise to many health problems and diseases. It is the involvement of fat tissues which grow in excessive amounts in certain parts of the body. According to ayurveda there are 7 dhatus which balances the whole body - rasa dhatu (which is the part of the food digested), rakta dhatu (blood), mamsa dhatu (muscle), meda dhatu (fat), asthi dhatu (bone), majja dhatu (bone marrow), shukra dhatu (reproductive system). In ayurveda each dhatu is converted to other dhatu and nourishes the body. But in sthoulya (obesity) there is hampering of meda dhatu which further doesn't nourishes the other dhatu which leads to accumulation of fat tissues. Due to accumulation of more fat there is increase in digestive fire which leads to more appetite so which leads to more fat and heavy weight. According to acharya the stomach is the main storage house of meda dhatu and vata dosha also resides in the stomach so as vata dosha increases the digestive fires increase which leads to more appetite. Kapha dosha and fat tissues are related to one another as kapha increases the fat tissues also increase.

Causes Of Obesity (Sthoulya)

  1. Excess of food intake - As taking more food leads to increase in digestive fire (agni) the body needs a way to digest whole food but due to blockage in meda dhatu more fat tissue so more weight. With more intake of heavy food, spicy foods, oily foods there is an increase in weight. As light food digest easily due to increase in digestive fire so people tend to eat heavy food which ultimately leads to heavy weight.
  2. Lack of exercise - Due to this sedentary lifestyle people take up more calories than burning through exercise. This ultimately leads to weight gain.
  3. Certain medications - Persons who suffer from cushing syndrome (when the body makes more cortisol hormone), who suffers from arthritis (suffer more) due to inactivity, medication of diabetes, anti seizure drugs.
  4. Age - Obesity can be seen in any group, due to hormonal changes and less activity increase risk of obesity.
  5. Pregnancy - Weight gain is common in pregnancy and many women found it difficult to lose weight after delivery.
  6. Lack of sleep - If a person doesn't sleep properly due to changes in hormonal balance which increase in appetite.
  7. Hereditary - Sometimes it is from genes.

Pathology

  • Increase of agni - Due to more vata dosha there is increase in digestive strength so leads to more appetite and more food intake.
  • Hampering of all dhatu - Due to blockage in medo dhatu it is not able to convert into asthi dhatu so more fat accumulates.
  • Increase in kapha dosha - Is kapha dosha and fat tissues are related to each other so as we intake kapha ahara which leads to more fat, which is known as obesity (sthoulya).

Symptoms Of Obesity

  • Excessive hunger
  • Short life span
  • Foul odor from body
  • Loss of libido
  • Weakness
  • Sluggishness
  • Excessive sweating
  • Unable to perform heavy work

Complications

  • Fistula in ano - Due to low intake of calories, fiber diet, low water intake and sedentary lifestyles, and due to elevated level of BMI there is risk of anorectal abscess.
  • Piles - Due to long sitting the veins are pushed downwards and due to heavy weight they are more prone as heavy weight pushes more weight on the veins and it can worsen the situation.
  • Diabetes - As in obesity the body uses insulin to control the blood sugar levels so patients become resistant to insulin and causes diabetes.
  • Heart disease - Due to abnormal level of cholestrol there is more risk to heart disease in obese patients.
  • Certain cancer - Obesity can increase the risk of cancer in the cervix, gallbladder, colon, rectum.
  • Diarrhoea - Obese patients can ingest absorbed sugars which causes diarrhoea.

Treatment

  • Exercise regularly (walking, jogging, cycling)
  • Yoga and pranayam to relieve stress
  • Powder form massage (udvartana) - also known as rooks udvartana using ingredients such as Devadaru, Rasna and many more. The purpose of this massage is to burn the fat deposited under the skin on areas such as the buttock, thigh region.
  • First to balance vata and kapha dosha so one must adapt to eat the food which balance vata and kapha dosha (increase use of barley, avoid food which is hard to digest, no sleep at day time)
  • In panchkarma various procedures are performed to balance dosha and take out various matter and expel it from the body. First oil massage is done which is further followed by vaman (vomiting), virechana (purgation therapy), basti (enema) which balances vata dosha and is useful in converting medo dhatu to asthi dhatu.
  • Use of buttermilk in diet.
  • Drinking more water helps to remove all the toxins out of the body.
