Introduction

Eucommia is a small tree native to China. It is basically the genus of a small tree. There is a fossil record of Eucommia that shows its distribution in China. It is widely cultivated in China for its bark. This small tree bark is used in traditional Chinese medicine. The tree grows about 15 meter in length. Flowers are growing from March to May and fruit is ripened in between June and November. This belongs to the family Eucommiaceae. This is also called ``du zhong". Trees of Eucommia are distributed in forest hills and mountains in central and eastern China.
