ABSTRACT

In today’s era and traditions going on, it’s so easy to say, we are busy. One of the characteristics of modern life is that we are moving at an ever-increasing rate. However, our temptation to caught up in this frantic life of everyday rush has also catabolized our peace and happiness; and it may be begging the question-are we metabolizing and digesting our emotions of everyday life adequately? The answer is NO. To gain inner happiness and peace, Ayurveda offers a unique system of treatment based upon life style adjustments, individualized dietary programmes, powerful herbal formulas and spiritual focus of yoga and meditation.

BODY

The major question which strikes on mind is- what is happiness and peace? As said by ‘Mother Teresa’-

PEACE BEGINS WITH A SMILE.

Happiness is the inner transitory period of life which we experience only when something interesting happens in life. It is nothing but a feeling of satisfaction which is different for different people. Our happiness can be permanent if we find inner peace. By leaving all the desires, you can achieve peace because it is the quietness inside you. Peace is accepting the life as it is and is the state of positivity. The only and foremost way to find peace and happiness is to maintain positive thoughts.

Peaceful And Happy Life with Ayurveda

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, many of us suffer from a loss of meaning, direction, vitality, mission, purpose, identity and genuine connection- it has been considered as simple ordinary thing which is a deep unhappiness. I call this pandemic of unhappiness and uncertainty in life as ‘silver lining’ and believe that it blinds us from seeing the potential for joy and wholeness in ordinary life.

As the covid-19 pandemic wreaks havoc across the globe, one of its major victims is global economy. In India, small businesses with weak revenues are struggling with cash flows while daily-wage earners are starting to see eventheir meagre income impacted by the shutdowns. Lockdown pushes students coaching institutes into limbo. Specific sectors like entertainment, tourism and aviation are starting to blur. Over time, it becomes easier to accept a lack of meaning in our lives as normal.

Seeking happiness in the worldly material things do not seem to work out. At some point, it becomes clear that lasting happiness cannot be realized in any world, body or mind, in any experience, situation or relationship. Whatever is dependent on a cause is temporary and cannot last and we should remember the words of ‘Swami Vivekananda’ in ‘Raja Yoga’-

TELL YOUR BODY THAT IT IS STRONG, TELL YOUR MIND THAT IT IS HAPPY AND HAVE UNBOUNDED FAITH AND HOPE IN YOURSELF.

Due to job loss or uncertainty in life, many people are suffering from depression, insomnia, anxiety, stress which ultimately leads to heart related ailments and it can pose a serious threat to the person’s life. But always remember that happiest people on earth don’t have best of everything, but they make best of everything they have. Most of the life events make us happy for short time, so happiness is not the final destination, peace makes us more happy, conscious and above.

Now the major question- how to deal with it? The ancient teachings of Ayurveda tells in-depth about the profound relationship of the mind’s influence upon the body. It makes us aware of our place in the world of nature through the movement of time.

Ayurveda includes an awareness of pure internal nature through our thoughts and emotions. It teaches us how to harmonize ourselves with sunrise and sunset, the seasons of the year and the stages of life from birth to death. It shows us how to adapt to environmental forces of heat and cold, dampness and dryness and clear and cloudy days. Along with its natural rhythm, Ayurveda shows the right diet for the physical body, right breathing for the panic body, the right impression for mind, harmonious emotions for the heart and the right thoughts for our higher intelligence. We must remember that being happy is all about fulfilling your desires and it may not give you inner peace.
