Ureaplasma infection is a bacterial infection caused by Ureaplasma bacteria that is commonly found in the urinary or genital tract of the human's body. Ureaplasma infection is generally associated with conditions that affect the male and female reproductive system. It can also infect newborns if these bacteria pass from mother to child during pregnancy.

Ureaplasma comes under the class of bacteria called Mycoplasma species. These are the most inanimate free creatures, which are not even visible under the microscope. These bacteria are parasites, so a host is needed to survive them, such as humans or animals.
