According to ayurveda the every living body is made up of five basic elements [earth, fire, water, space and air] and these elements combine to form three life forces which in ayurveda is known as doshas. They are known to control body functioning.

These doshas are:-

  1. Vata dosha – this is known to control body basic functioning. This controls breathing, blood flow, heart functioning, mind and elimination of waste through intestines.
  2. Kapha dosha – this dosha is known to control muscle growth, weight, body strength and immunity of the body.
